Our board of directors exercises it's sole discretion over whether or not the foundation is willing to entertain a grant application by releasing invitations to selected charities. The foundation does not entertain grant applications unless the charity first receives our board's invitation to apply.
WELCOME TO THE PHM FOUNDATION'S HOME PAGE!
Our predominant form of charity is as a grantmaker. We award donations to charities which we have deemed to be both responsible and effective in the fulfillment of their charitable objectives. We do not attempt to influence the mission of charities receiving awards, rather we investigate first so as to determine whether or not we feel comfortable as a financial partner towards the fulfillment of each organization's objectives.
In addition to basic grantmaking, we have an economic development program where we provide either equity or debt financing to promote entrepreneurship and thereby promote development. Our focus is currently on countries deemed by the UN to be lesser developed. Within these countries, if we make such an investment related to our economic development program, we then provide further technical support to the entrepreneur. When we do make an investment, we limit ourselves to investing with entrepreneurs in the industries which have been sanctioned as a development venue by the lesser developed country. We also limit ourselves to one development project at a time so that this work is carried out with due diligence on our side. We currently have an economic development PRI in place and have no capacity to provide additional equity or debt financing, even to qualifying applicants.
We are a Texas not-for-profit corporation classified as a private foundation under U.S. IRC §501(c)(3). We do not accept donations from the general public. We do not accept grant applications from the general public. For more about our history, please visit the About page.
